It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was underway.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
